
Mr. Gasper has 20 years of hospitality operations and real estate development
experience. After receiving his Bachelor and Master degrees from The Ohio State
University, John managed golf course operations at several high-end private
country clubs including Oak Tree Golf Club in Edmond, Oklahoma. While at Oak
Tree, Mr. Gasper initiated a Master Improvement Plan and was involved in the
development of Oak Tree Estates, a high-end real estate community. John then
worked for a partnership entity of Nationwide Realty Investors where he played
an important and integral role in the planning, permitting, entitlement,
construction and development of The Hideaway Golf Club, a 36-hole recreational
real estate community located in La Quinta, California. The Hideaway, developed
by Discovery Land, is rated as one of the top golf communities in the United
States by Travel and Leisure magazine. Mr. Gasper then spent five years in
Tokyo, Japan working as a Director with Goldman Sachs/Troon Golf overseeing
Goldman’s Asian golf hospitality platform that consisted of over 100 facilities
located across Japan. While at Goldman, Mr. Gasper’s asset management team
managed the acquisition of nearly $1.0 billion in golf, hotel and real estate
assets, and formed Accordia Golf Ltd.; the management and holding company, which
was successfully listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Prior to joining Woodside
Partners in 2006 as Principal and Managing Director, John was involved in
numerous real estate projects in the Western United States including several
large developments in Eastern Washington.
